My master asked me to train some search and retrieving in the mountain terrain also. Yes, it was much more fun than training at home, where I by now know the terrain inside out. The swamp was a bit heavy to run in and I had to jump a lot to see above the tall grass.

Yes, I know that the spaniels should mostly run with their nose down on the ground but can you get a stylish picture of such a dog? And I have heard that you can air scent birds like the pointing dogs with the head held high.

Yes, I would rather be a pointing dog like my mates at home, the setters Foxy and Briz. They can run much faster and with more stamina than me and they are so stylish when they are on point!

Well, master, I agree that I am a much better retriever than the setters but what if I point just a little, a few seconds before each flush, would that be to ask for too much? It would be to ask for too much … OK then!
